Swine Club Enrollment

The Elkhart County online enrollment opens October 1st.
You MUST be enrolled by January 15.

  • Read the membership requirements listed below.
  • A $15 non-refundable State Program Fee per child is due at the time of enrollment.
  • There is no fee for Exploring 4-H youth.
  • Please call the Purdue Extension Office (574-533-0554) if you have any questions.

Swine Club Membership Requirements

As a Swine Club member, you MUST complete all requirements to complete your year in the club. Below is information regarding the requirements. Please sign up using the SignUp Genius that was sent out via email.

Requirements

  1. Complete either Purdue Quality Assurance program or Youth for the Quality Care of Animals.
  2. Complete one (1) of the following:
    a. A poster (see below)
    b. Attend a workday at the fairgrounds (see below)
    c. Participate in the service project (see below).

Poster Requirements

Information on the poster:

  • Detailed pictures/journaling/information regarding the steps/process you took to complete your Swine project from start to finish.
  • Size: 11X17 (no smaller)
  • Legible to be read
  • Due by June 11, 2024

Work day
FCDC Spring Cleaning workday

  • Plan on working a little outside to spruce things up. Wear outside clothes and bring gloves.
  • Date: April 13, 2024
  • Time: 10 A.M.- 12 P.M.
  • Location: FCDC (107 E. Marion Street Nappanee, IN 46550)

Swine Barn Landscaping

We will be working on the Swine Barn landscaping. Wear outside clothes and bring gloves.

  • Date: April 20, 2024
  • Time: 9 A.M.- 11 A.M.
  • Location: Swine Barn

Swine Barn Preparations

We will be working on the Swine Barn and prepping for the start of fair, as well as, hanging stall cards.

  • Date: July 15, 2024
  • Time: 6:30 P.M.- 8 P.M.
  • Location: Swine Barn

Swine Club meetings are on the 2nd Tuesday of every month unless otherwise noted.
